¡Ay, Dios mío, Nashville! La ciudad de la música, del country, de las despedidas de soltera - y, bueno, también ¡Nashville te espera!, el Vanderbilt West End. Me lancé a la aventura, con la esperanza de encontrar el paraíso prometido. Prepárense, porque este no es un análisis profesional, es más bien… mi experiencia, con todo y sus tropiezos, en un intento de contarles cómo fue la cosa. ¡Vamos allá, con todo el desorden y honestidad que se necesita!
Accesibilidad… ¿Para Todos?
Comencemos con lo básico, la accesibilidad. (Accessibility, Wheelchair accessible). Me importa muchísimo que todos puedan disfrutar de un buen hotel, y aquí es donde nos encontramos con… variaciones. El sitio web promete, promete, promete. Pero la realidad, a veces, no es tan perfecta. Hay instalaciones para huéspedes con discapacidad y ascensor. Eso es un buen comienzo. Necesitaría una visita más profunda para evaluar realmente la facilidad de movimiento en todas partes, pero al menos, se ve que intentan. (Elevator).
Internet, ese Gran Amigo… y Enemigo
¡Ah, el internet! (Internet, Free Wi-Fi in all rooms!, Internet [LAN], Internet services, Wi-Fi in public areas). Una necesidad vital para el viajero moderno, especialmente si eres adicto a Instagram como yo. La buena noticia, ¡Wi-Fi gratis en todas las habitaciones! Glorioso. La velocidad… bueno, digamos que a veces te daba tiempo a hacer un café mientras se cargaba una foto. Había internet por cable (LAN), pero, ¿quién usa eso hoy en día? ¡Soy más de Wi-Fi! También parece que hay conexiones para eventos especiales.
Limpieza y Seguridad: ¿Escudo contra el Virus?
¡Importantísimo! Cleanliness and safety. En tiempos de pandemia, esto es crucial. Prometen productos de limpieza antivirales, desinfección diaria en áreas comunes, y sanitización de habitaciones entre estancias, ¡y eso me da tranquilidad! Además, gel desinfectante a mano, y personal capacitado en protocolos de seguridad. Eso sí, me hubiera gustado ver un poco más de evidencia tangible. ¿Cómo de a fondo se limpian las habitaciones realmente? Esa es la pregunta del millón…
Comida, Bebida y… ¿Sobrevivencia?
(Dining, drinking, and snacking). ¡Aquí es donde la cosa se pone interesante! Hay restaurantes, ¡obvio! Pero, ¿qué tipo? Asian breakfast, Asian cuisine in restaurant, Western breakfast, Western cuisine in restaurant, Vegetarian restaurant. Promete variedad. Bar, Poolside bar, Coffee shop, Snack bar, Room service [24-hour]. Mmmm… la barra junto a la piscina suena tentadora. Me imagino una margarita con vistas… ¡Pero esperen! ¿Hay happy hour? ¡Esencial! Breakfast [buffet] y A la carte in restaurant. Me encantan los buffets, ¡pero que sean buenos! Bottle of water… ¡Claro! Hay coffee/tea in restaurant y desserts in restaurant, salad in restaurant, soup in restaurant… Parece que hay para todos los gustos, menos para los que prefieren comer en la cama.
¡La Experiencia Clave! – El Spa… ¡Una Aventura! (Spa, Spa/sauna, Sauna, Steamroom, Pool with view, Massage, Foot bath, Body scrub, Body wrap)
¡Aquí es donde el hotel se vende a si mismo! El spa… ¡el spa! Pool with view es lo que me hizo decidirme. ¡Piscinita con vistas! Prometía relax puro. Me tiré de cabeza, literalmente, a la "spa experience". Body scrub, body wrap, sauna, steamroom, Foot bath, Fitness center, Gym/fitness, Massage. ¡Todo lo que prometían!
Llegué, con la expectativa por las nubes… y el pool with view resultó espectacular, con vistas a la ciudad. El masaje, ¡ay el masaje! Fue… bueno… diferente. No fue el masaje de mis sueños, pero no me quejo. Lo que sí, el sauna… ¡pequeñísimo! Y el steamroom, no se si funcionaba o estaba en mantenimiento. ¡Una decepción! En resumen, el spa, con sus altibajos, prometía más de lo que entregaba. Pero la piscina, ¡oh, la piscina!, esa sí que valió la pena. Podría haberme quedado ahí todo el día.

En general, la habitación cumplió con las expectativas. ¡Ah! Y la vista, ¡depende de la habitación! La mía, ¡espectacular!

Day 2: Music City Mishaps and the Search for the Real Nashville
8:00 AM: Wake up, regretting those beers. Coffee, coffee, coffee. The hotel breakfast is… well, it's free. And the oatmeal might just be slightly more palatable than the scrambled eggs. Tough call.
9:00 AM: Head to The Parthenon! Yes, the Parthenon. In Nashville. It's like a postcard come to life. It's an exact replica of the Parthenon in Athens. I walked around it, and I felt tiny in the middle of the sculpture.
12:00 PM: This is where things start to get messy. I decided to go to Broadway. The "must-do" thing, they say. The first thing that hits you is the noise. HOLY COW! It's a wall of music. 9:00 PM: Back to the hotel. Exhausted but strangely invigorated. Maybe, just maybe, Nashville and I could be friends. After a healthy dose of earplugs and a good night's sleep.
Day 3: The Emotional Roller Coaster and the Sweetness of the South
- 9:00 AM: Okay, I'm starting to feel less like a crumpled piece of paper and more like… a slightly less crumpled piece of paper. The hotel gym is calling my name. I try to get into the treadmill, but I can't. I'm so tired of walking!
- 10:00 AM: I decided to explore the city today! I saw a lot of beautiful things!
- 12:00 PM: I found a nice place to eat. I ate some fantastic food.
- 2:00 PM: I walked to a park nearby the hotel and sat down for a while.
- 4:00 PM: I started to pack my things. It's almost time to say goodbye to Nashville.
- 6:00 PM: It's time to say goodbye to the hotel. I really like Nashville, and I hope I can come back again.
- 8:00 PM: I'm at the airport. The airplane finally landed. I'm going home!
Overall Thoughts:
The Good: The music. The food (mostly). The unexpected moments of pure, unadulterated happiness. The hotel was clean and convenient. And hey, I survived!

¡Jajaja, tranquila, hermana! Yo también me pierdo en un centro comercial. Básicamente, Vanderbilt West End está… bueno, *alrededor* de la Universidad Vanderbilt. Piensa en West End Avenue como su columna vertebral. Es la calle principal. Luego, por ahí, te mueves por calles como 21st Avenue South, Broadway (sí, esa Broadway, pero más calmada por aquí), y Belmont Boulevard. Usa Google Maps, ¡pero no te asustes! Es todo bastante accesible. O, mejor aún, pregunta a un local. Los de Nashville son bastante simpáticos… aunque a veces un poco *demasiado* simpáticos, te sueltan todo su drama familiar en la primera conversación. Pero bueno, al menos te dan buenas direcciones.

Aquí encontrarás lugares más íntimos, con artistas locales... ¡y a veces, incluso, a artistas *locales*! ¡Jajaja! También puedes ir a un concierto en el Ryman Auditorium (aunque no está *exactamente* en West End, está cerca). O visitar el Parthenon, esa réplica gigante del Partenón griego. Es… curioso. Realmente curioso. Y si te va el arte, hay algunas galerías interesantes por ahí. O simplemente… ¡pasea! West End es un lugar agradable para caminar, mirar escaparates, y observar a la gente. Yo, personalmente, adoro sentarme en una cafetería con un buen libro y observar el caos organizado del mundo pasar. ¡Es como un reality show gratuito!

Por la noche, se anima un poco, especialmente los fines de semana. Hay más gente cenando fuera, yendo a conciertos… Pero, en general, es mucho menos caótico que el centro. Es un ambiente más *cool*, más relajado. Menos turistas gritando, más gente disfrutando. Lo mejor de todo es que puedes… respirar. Puedes encontrar tranquilidad. Y, por supuesto, siempre hay gente. ¡Pero es un buen tipo de gente! (A veces, demasiado "buen rollo", ¡me dan ganas de darles un bofetón! Jajaja, ¡es broma!) Pero, en serio, es un ambiente agradable.
¿Hay estacionamiento? (Porque odio buscar estacionamiento)
¡Ay, el estacionamiento! ¡El gran drama de la existencia! Sí, hay estacionamiento, pero… ¡no es perfecto! Hay estacionamiento en la calle, pero puede ser complicado encontrar lugar, especialmente en horas pico. También hay estacionamientos públicos y garajes. Te recomiendo buscar un lugar antes de ir. Google Maps es tu amigo. Espera pagar… algo. El estacionamiento en Nashville no es barato. Una vez, me gasté más en estacionamiento que en la cena… ¡y eso que comí tacos! Así que, prepárate.
