¡A ver, a comer!Restaurants, 24-hour room service, A la carte in restaurant, Asian breakfast, Asian cuisine in restaurant, Bar, Breakfast [buffet], Breakfast service, Buffet in restaurant, Coffee/tea in restaurant, Coffee shop, Desserts in restaurant, Happy hour, International cuisine in restaurant, Poolside bar, Salad in restaurant, Snack bar, Soup in restaurant, Vegetarian restaurant, Western breakfast, Western cuisine in restaurant, Bottle of water, Essential condiments. Asian cuisine in restaurant, bar, restaurant, salad in restaurant, snack bar, soup in restaurant, vegetarian restaurant, western breakfast, western cuisine in restaurant, coffee shop, and desserts in restaurant. ¡¡¡Buf, vaya lista!!! ¡Me preocupaba!
- Body scrub & body wrap: ¡Mmmm! Me tengo que confesar… ¡soy una adicta al spa! Pool with view, sauna, spa, spa/sauna, steamroom, swimming pool, swimming pool [outdoor]! Sauna, jacuzzi, piscina al aire libre… ¡un sueño! ¡Y con vistas! ¡El paraíso! Fitness center, gym/fitness, and massage.
Air conditioning in public areas, Audio-visual equipment for special events, Business facilities, Cash withdrawal, Concierge, Contactless check-in/out, Convenience store, Currency exchange, Daily housekeeping, Doorman, Dry cleaning, Elevator, Facilities for disabled guests, Food delivery, Gift/souvenir shop, Indoor venue for special events, Invoice provided, Ironing service, Laundry service, Luggage storage, Meeting/banquet facilities, Meetings, Meeting stationery, On-site event hosting, Outdoor venue for special events, Projector/LED display, Safety deposit boxes, Seminars, Shrine, Smoking area, Terrace, Wi-Fi for special events, Xerox/fax in business center.

- ¿Y para los que viajan por negocios? Meetings, meeting/banquet facilities…

(Or, How I Survived Lahore & My Own Sanity) - A Messy Itinerary
Alright, buckle up buttercups. This isn't your meticulously planned trip. This is reality. This is me, surviving (or, attempting to survive) five days and nights in a Gulberg II apartment in Lahore, Pakistan. My sanity is hanging by a thread, my stomach is constantly confused, and my heart…well, let's just say it's experiencing feelings.
Day 1: Arrival & Total Overwhelm (Plus, a Mango-Induced Crisis)
- Morning (ish): Flight lands smoother than my bank account after this trip. Lahore airport is a glorious chaos. I get through customs. The air hits me – a wall of heat, spices, and something indefinable that screams "Pakistan!"
- Afternoon (1:00 PM): Finally, finally make it to the apartment. Gulberg II. The address looks impressive on paper. The reality? A bustling street, a grumpy security guard, and an elevator that sounds like it's planning a mutiny. Get into the apartment, which, let's be honest, is bigger than my first apartment. The AC is blasting! Bless.
- Afternoon (2:30 PM): Panic mode engaged. Where's the internet? The kitchen? Is that… a prayer rug in the living room? I need a coffee. Desperately.
- Afternoon (3:30 PM): Found the coffee. It's instant. Sigh. But the view from the window is… Wow. Lahore's sprawling, chaotic beauty. I'm officially terrified and exhilarated.
- Afternoon (4:30 PM): Mango. Someone brought a mango. Apparently, it’s peak season. Bite one, and it's basically heaven manifested on earth. Eat the entire thing, dripping down my chin like a barbarian because, you know, manners are for later.
- Evening (6:00 PM): The consequences of that mango hit me hard. Stomach starts making ominous noises. Learn the hard way that Pakistani tap water is NOT a safe bet. Commence internal battle of wills. Maybe this adventure is too much for my fragile Western stomach.
- Evening (8:00 PM): Order food from the app. Butter chicken. It arrives, smelling divine. Eating it is the closest thing to euphoria I will feel for the next 24 hours.
- Night (9:00 PM): Collapse into bed, utterly exhausted. The sounds of the city drift into the apartment: the call to prayer, honking, a distant wedding band… I'm in Pakistan. And I'm already a mess.
Day 2: Food Poisoning Tango & Bazaar Bargaining Shenanigans
- Morning (8:00 AM): Wake up to the delightful sensation of my stomach churning around like a washing machine on spin cycle. This is going to be a long day.
- Morning (9:00 AM): Discover the joys of anti-diarrheal medication. (Not sponsored, but seriously, thank you, science!)
- Afternoon (12:00 PM): Attempt to venture out. My legs feel like wet noodles. I decide to brave the local tea shop for some chai. The owner, a kindly old man with a mischievous glint in his eye, hands me the chai and asks "You from the land of blue eyes?" I grin and say "Yes!"
- Afternoon (13:00 PM): Embark on a perilous journey to the local bazaar. I need something to cling to amidst all the potential chaos. I'm determined to haggle! This is a battle of wills, apparently.
- Afternoon (15:00 PM): The haggling. Oh, the haggling! I'm terrible at it. I end up buying a beautiful pashmina shawl for way more than it's worth (or so I think, still not entirely sure). But the shopkeeper's smile and the way he kept calling me "Madam" just made it so hard to say no!
- Afternoon (16:00 PM): Find a "recovery" juice stall (because electrolytes!) and down an entire glass of freshly squeezed orange juice.
- Evening (18:00 PM): Force myself to eat a small helping of plain rice. Stomach grumbles.
- Evening (20:00 PM): Watch tv and discover I really enjoy Pakistani soap operas (complete with the dramatic music and over-the-top storylines). It's a distraction from the food poisoning, at least.
Day 3: Lahore Fort & The Royal Baths (and My Existential Crisis)
- Morning (9:00 AM): Wake up. Miraculously, a little better. Decide to actually see some sights.
- Morning (10:00 AM): Head to Lahore Fort. The place is breathtaking! It's vast, intricate, and utterly humbling. I wander through the Sheesh Mahal, its mirrored walls reflecting a thousand suns. I sit in the shade and feel an overwhelming sense of… well, something. History? Beauty? The crushing weight of existence?
- Afternoon (13:00 PM): Explore the Royal Baths. The architecture is stunning. The history is palpable. It feels like I'm walking through the pages of a fairytale. I’m alone which gives me time to reflect about my life.
- Afternoon (15:00 PM): I get lost in a maze of winding pathways. The sun beats down, and I'm surrounded by the hushed reverence of ancient stone and the echoes of history. I start feeling overwhelmed. This is a lot.
- Afternoon (17:00 PM): Find a quiet corner and just… breathe. The beauty of the fort is a powerful antidote to my minor existential crisis.
- Evening (19:00 PM): Dinner at a rooftop restaurant. Chicken tikka. This time, I survived to eat it. The view over the city at sunset is worth any stomach-related discomfort.
Day 4: Badshahi Mosque & The Unbearable Beauty of It All (Plus, a New Friend)
- Morning (9:00 AM): Visit the Badshahi Mosque. The sheer scale of it is unbelievable. I'm dwarfed by the towering red sandstone and the soaring minarets. The interior is a symphony of light and shadow, and I’d be lying if I said my jaw didn’t drop in awe.
- Morning (10:00 AM): I'm wandering the mosque, mesmerized. A young woman in a stunning headscarf approaches me. She starts talking, and, amazingly, she speaks English! We end up chatting for hours. We share stories, laugh, and she answers all my confused (and probably offensive) questions about Islam and Pakistani culture. She is an absolute star!
- Afternoon (13:00 PM): Lunch with new friend. Find the best food, and it opens up new insights into the taste, flavours and textures. It fills me with all sorts of happy emotions.
- Afternoon (15:00 PM): I am sad that this might be the end of my trip with this new friend. I want to share the beauty of this country with her.
- Afternoon (17:00 PM): Stroll through the old city with my new friend. We get lost in the labyrinthine alleys, and I forget all my worries. We end up in some small shop.
- Evening (19:00 PM): Say goodbye to my friend, promising to keep in touch (and hoping I haven't scared her off with my constant questions and clumsy attempts at Urdu).
- Evening (21:00 PM): Reflect on a life-changing day. I feel grateful and emotional.
Day 5: Departure & The Lingering Taste of Lahore
- Morning (9:00 AM): Pack. The apartment feels emptier than when I first arrived.
- Morning (10:00 AM): Last breakfast. This time, I opt for toast. Just to be safe.
- Morning (11:00 AM): Another trip to the Bazaar. But this time, I feel confident. I get a great deal on a rug (I think).
- Afternoon (13:00 PM): Head to the airport. The elevator still doesn't like me.
- Afternoon (14:00 PM): Stand in line and waiting for my flight.
- Afternoon (15:00 PM): Looking out the plane window thinking about the good times, the bad times, and all the in-between. The food, the people, the chaos… I'm leaving with a suitcase full of memories (and maybe a slightly improved stomach). I have had so much fun in Lahore!
- Evening (18:00 PM): The plane takes off
