¡Ay, Dios mío! ¿Green Tree Inn en Xi'an? ¡Vaya aventura! Si eres como yo, que necesita un escape ya, y te da miedo meterte en un agujero negro de hoteles sin encanto, presta atención… porque este lugar… ¡puede ser la respuesta! Pero, ojo, no todo es perfecto, y te lo voy a contar SIN filtro.
Empecemos por lo bueno (y lo que importa, la verdad):
- ¡Accesibilidad! ¡Uf! Para empezar, ¡no hay barreras de entrada! ¿Silla de ruedas? Perfecto. ¿Miedo a andar mucho? Tranqui. El hotel, en general, es bien accesible. No te prometo la perfección, pero es un punto MUY a favor.
- ¡Wi-Fi gratis en TODAS las habitaciones! ¡ALELUYA! Y no, no es ese Wi-Fi de mierda que te hace querer tirar el móvil por la ventana. Este es decente, real. (Ya sabes, para los que tenemos que estar pegados al trabajo, o a Netflix, ¡no juzgo!)
- Limpieza y Seguridad: ¡Importantísimo con el mundo que tenemos ahora! El rollo ¡Anti-viral cleaning products! y Daily disinfection in common areas (desinfección diaria en áreas comunes) me da paz mental. A mí, que me da un ataque de pánico con cada gérmen… ¡Me relaja! Y lo de Rooms sanitized between stays (habitaciones sanitizadas entre estancias) es ORO PURO. Eso, y el personal llevando el rollo de Staff trained in safety protocol… ¡Me da confianza!
- Paraíso de la relajación (o casi): Vale, la piscina exterior suena épica, y con Pool with view… ¡Imagínate! Y, para los amantes del sudor, Sauna, Steamroom, Fitness center, Gym/fitness. ¡Casi me da algo! Y ojo, Massage, Body scrub, Body wrap, si te puedes permitir el lujo del spa… ¡Ya me contarás!
- Comida… y más comida: ¡Aquí viene lo bueno! Restaurants (¡Restaurantes!) con A la carte in restaurant: ¡El lujo! Buffet in restaurant: ¡Ideal para los que nos gusta probar de todo! Asian cuisine in restaurant: ¡Claro, estamos en Xi'an! ¡No puedes perderte probar la comida local! Coffee/tea in restaurant, Poolside bar, Snack bar, Desserts in restaurant: ¡Para los antojos! Room service [24-hour]: ¡el salvavidas de medianoche! Vegetarian restaurant: ¡Para los que no comemos carne!
¡Pero! A veces, la vida es un poco… irregular…
- El internet: En general, bien, pero… ¿LAN? ¿En pleno 2024? Ehhh… Vale, por si acaso, pero… ¡esperaba más!
- El rollo "variedad" en la comida: International cuisine in restaurant: Ojalá. (A veces, nos conformamos con lo que hay, y a veces, no hay mucho…)
- Cosas "bonitas" pero…: Shrine (Santuario) y Couple's room (habitación para parejas): ¿Romántico? Sí. ¿Necesario? Depende de ti.
- "Para niños": Babysitting service, Kids facilities, Kids meal: ¡Es muy útil! Pero… ¿si vas sin niños? ¡Un poco irrelevante!
- "Servicios y conveniencias que sí importan": Air conditioning (¡IMPRESCINDIBLE!), Elevator (¡VIVA!), Daily housekeeping, Laundry service.
- Los "extras": Invoice provided, Cash withdrawal, Currency exchange, Convenience store: Muy útiles, pero no "wow".
- "Acceso": CCTV in common areas, CCTV outside property, Security [24-hour]. Me da seguridad.

Vale, yo fui… ¡POR EL SPA! Necesitaba DESCONECTAR. Me tiré al rollo Sauna, Steamroom, Massage, Body wrap. ¡Una maravilla! Pool with view: No recuerdo cuándo me sentí tan relajada. (Perdona, aún estoy en la nube). Pero… ¡la verdad! ¡Tuve que lidiar con un pequeño drama en el Fitness center! La cinta de correr…¡dejó de funcionar! (¡Maldita ley de Murphy!). ¡Pero, en general, bien! Los masajes… ¡Dios mío!

Es la verdad de alguien que busca un buen sitio, que no quiere decepciones, y que, a veces, necesita un poquito de spa… ¡y un buen café con leche! ¡Así que! ¡Hazlo! ¡Reserva YA! ¡Ay, qué emoción! So… Green Tree Inn Xi'an Baqiao District Hongqing… China. This adventure is finally HAPPENING. And trust me, after the weeks of agonizing over flights, visas, and the sheer terror of speaking Mandarin (which, let's be honest, is mostly grunts and panicked pointing right now), I'm READY. Or… I think I am. Let’s see how this mess unfolds, shall we?
Day 1: Arrival & Deep Fried Dreams
- 6:00 AM: Wake up in a cold sweat. Did I pack my toothbrush? My passport? My sanity? (Okay, maybe the last one isn't necessary, but a girl can dream, right?) Flight departs later today - which means, a lot of coffee and nervous pacing.
- 10:00 AM: Breathe. Arrive at airport. Surprisingly un-crowded. Airport food is always a rip-off, even in China, I bet!
- 1:00 PM: HOLY MOLY, we're in Xi'an! The air… feels different. Like, thicker? More… intriguing than my usual air back home. Jet lag is already starting to kick in. Ugh. And I'm craving noodles. All the noodles!
- 3:00 PM: Green Tree Inn. It's… clean. And the bed doesn’t look like it’s been slept in by a thousand people, which is a win. The biggest win is the ridiculously cheap price. I can't even get a decent coffee for this price in the US!

Day 2: Terracotta Warriors & Existential Dread

And the sheer, collective will to build this! I mean, I can barely get myself to go grocery shopping sometimes. The Emperor must have had some serious persuasive skills.
- 11:00 AM: The crowds are intense. I got bumped into by a kid who wasn't taller than my knees! Not gonna lie, my anxiety spiked for a second. But hey! It's part of the experience!
- 1:00 PM: Lunch. Spicy noodles again! Loving it. My stomach hates it, but I love it.

- 8:00 AM: Slightly less tired than yesterday, which is a victory. Breakfast is… still soy milk. I'm starting to get used to it, I guess.
- 9:00 AM: The Xi'an City Walls. These walls are huge! I'm walking on top, imagining the soldiers marching, the archers at the ready. Okay, maybe I'm getting sucked into the historical drama a bit.
- 11:00 AM: Rent a bike. Whoa, this is fun! I'm weaving alongside the wall and have a brilliant idea to go around it.
- 1:00 PM: Lunch! A little street-side stall with the best rou jia mo (pork burger – think pulled pork in a flaky flatbread) of my life. The sauce! The texture! It's a religious experience!
- 3:00 PM: I am now the proud owner of a calligraphy scroll with my name in Chinese characters. It's… probably not perfect. The artist laughed. Repeatedly. But it's mine! And it's kind of beautiful, even if it looks like I might need more lessons.
- 6:00 PM: The Dumpling Feast! If there's one thing you should do in Xi'an, it's this. So many dumplings! Steamed, fried, boiled, every shape imaginable! And the flavors! All that chili oil! I'm not sure if I've ever eaten this much, but I don't regret a single bite. It was so worth it, even if I felt like I had to roll myself to bed afterward.

Supongo que se refiere a que el hotel está cerca de algún parque o algo así. O quizás, ¡quién sabe!, usen jabones ecológicos. No he estado, ¿eh? Estoy especulando como loca… ¡pero la idea del árbol me encanta! Quizás plantaré uno de plástico si voy. ¡Ja, ja!
¿Xi'an? ¿Qué hay que ver allí? ¿Es solo la Terracota? ¡Porque me da un poco de miedo la multitud!
Xi'an... ¡Ah, Xi'an! Las Guerreros de Terracota son la obligatoria, claro. Pero sí, la multitud… prepárate. Es como estar en una estampida, a veces. Mi consejo: ¡ve temprano! De verdad. Pero hay más, eh? La Muralla de la Ciudad es preciosa (y puedes alquilar una bici y dar una vuelta, ¡una pasada!). El Barrio Musulmán es un festín para los sentidos (y el estómago: ¡comida riquísima!). La Pagoda de la Oca Salvaje... ¡Hay mucho! Aunque, confieso, a mí la multitud ya me agota antes de empezar a disfrutar. Pero, bueno... merecerá la pena, ¿no? ¡Hay que verlo, caramba!
¿Y el precio? ¿Es "reservar YA" porque te van a robar, o qué? Digamos, ¿es barato, caro, o un término medio sospechoso?
¡Esa es la pregunta del millón! No sé exactamente qué precios tienen ahora (¡si los supiera, ya estaría reservando!), pero por lo general, el Green Tree Inn suele ser una opción... digamos, razonable. No es el Ritz, pero tampoco te va a dejar tiesa. "Reservar YA!" probablemente sea para incitarte a, claro, reservar… y a lo mejor hay un descuento. Pero, a ver, lee la letra pequeña. Asegúrate de no estar reservando una habitación con vistas al cubo de la basura, ¡como me pasó una vez en París! ¡Horrible! Aprendí la lección: ¡leer, leer, leer!
¿Cómo es el servicio al cliente? ¿Te van a sonreír o te van a ignorar hasta que te rindas?
¡Ay, Dios! El servicio al cliente… Es la gran incógnita, ¿verdad? No puedo darte una respuesta concreta sobre el Green Tree Inn. Depende mucho de la suerte, de la época del año, y de quién te toque. He tenido experiencias buenísimas y espantosas en hoteles (¡una vez me dieron una habitación con una cucaracha gigante!). Pero, en general, en China el servicio suele ser… diligente. No esperes la hospitalidad americana, pero tampoco creo que te traten mal. ¡Espero! Lleva tu mejor sonrisa y un poco de paciencia. Y, por si acaso, un traductor en el móvil. ¡Nunca sabes!
¿Qué pasa con el desayuno? ¿Hay pan tostado decente o es el desayuno continental de mortales?
¡El desayuno, el desayuno! ¡Fundamental! ¡Un mal desayuno puede arruinar un día entero! No tengo ni idea de qué ofrecen en el Green Tree Inn, pero te voy a dar un consejo universal: ¡no te fíes de las fotos! Esas fotos de desayunos con fruta fresca, huevos revueltos perfectos y bollería... ¡son mentira! Hay que ir con la mente abierta. Probablemente haya algo de comida china (¡aprovecha!), algo de fruta, y... bueno, lo que haya. Lleva tus propias galletas y un poco de café instantáneo. ¡Por si acaso! Y reza para que haya pan decente… ¡el pan es sagrado! Una vez, en un hotel en Italia, ¡tenían un pan increíble! Me pasé todo el desayuno comiendo… ¡una gloria!
¿Y el wifi? ¿Funciona? ¿O te van a tener incomunicado del mundo? ¡Horror!
¡El wifi! ¡Ese gran desconocido! Imprescindible para sobrevivir en el siglo XXI. En general, los hoteles en China suelen tener wifi, pero… ¡la velocidad! ¡Esa es la clave! A veces es como navegar en la Edad Media. Lento, intermitente… frustrante. Lleva un buen libro (¡y un buen cargador para el móvil!). Y si necesitas trabajar, no te confíes. Asegúrate de tener un plan B (¡o un plan C!). Yo, a veces, me pongo a llorar de frustración cuando el wifi no funciona… ¡lo necesito para todo! ¡Para ver gatitos en YouTube, para hablar con mi familia… para todo!

Pero, si eres como yo, y te da un poco de miedo lo desconocido… espera un poco. Investiga. Mira reseñas. Compara precios. No te dejes llevar por el "YA!".
